Course Highlights:

Vital Parameters

Learn how to assess your horse's vital signs – heart rate, respiratory rate, temperature, and more. This will enable you to recognize early signs of problems, monitor your horse and know when help is needed.

Colic

Recognise the different signs of colic (some are not so obvious). Then learn how to reduce the risk of colic and what to do while waiting for veterinary assistance if a case does occur.

Wounds

Gain the skills to clean, bandage, and manage various types of wounds. Learn about wound assessment, infection prevention, proud flesh, and bandaging techniques for optimal healing. Plus, importantly, understand when a wound needs urgent veterinary care.

Lameness

Equine lameness is a complex topic. This course will discuss some common causes, help you identify lameness signs, and to understand the initial steps for management.

First Aid Kit and Oral Medicine

Use our downloadable checklist to create a comprehensive equine first aid kit tailored to your needs. Ask about essential items every horse owner should have on hand. Plus, practical tips on giving oral medications including worming paste.
